PRE-EMERGE APPLICATIONS:
A good schedule to follow is to apply four pre-emerge applications a year:
Mid-February, Late April, Late August and Mid November
Following this schedule you should produce a clean looking lawn year round.

Using the right pre-emerge and applying it at the right time of the year is key to the products working correctly.  Most home yards have a lot of shade between the homes and even though it is still 90-100 degrees outside, the soil temperatures between these areas are already conducive for winter weed germination.  We get a lot of calls for the weed control and it is normally in these areas that we see most of the weeds.  Keep this in mind and make sure you apply these products in late August for the Fall Pre-emerge application.

WATERING:
During a hot and dry summer, irrigation systems get used three to four times or more a week just to keep the turf and plants green.  It is important that you keep your sprinkler system running correctly at all times.  This will save you on your water bill and also make sure you are watering the right areas.  We see a lot of landscapes that end up out growing the irrigation system and for that reason there are sprinklers not doing what they were initially designed to do.  Also, broken nozzles and heads not adjusted correctly can end up costing you an extra $15-$25 dollars a month on your water bill, not to mention losing some turf or plant material.  Next time you get a chance go out and check your system out and make sure it is running efficiently.
Call us, we would be happy to conduct our sprinkler irrigation check to get you system running correctly and efficiently.
